Meet our Founder
Ashley N. Cloud, Esq., MBA
Ashley N. Cloud, Esq., MBA is the Founder and CEO of The Cloud Law Firm PLLC, a boutique law firm based in Brooklyn, New York, dedicated to helping entrepreneurs build and protect their businesses from the ground up. As a business and legal strategist, Ashley empowers new and emerging brands through comprehensive legal services, including startup formation, brand and content protection, contract negotiation, and long-term business counsel.
Since launching her firm, Ashley has helped bring countless business visions to life—successfully registering trademarks, negotiating multi-million-dollar deals, and saving clients millions through sharp legal insight and strategic advocacy. Her work is guided by a deep belief that every entrepreneur deserves to build with clarity, confidence, and legal peace of mind.
Ashley’s passion for entrepreneurship began early. Raised in Houston, Texas, in a family of business owners, including time spent in her mother’s beauty salon, she developed a firsthand understanding of what it takes to launch and sustain a business. That upbringing inspired her to become the kind of legal partner her community always needed but didn’t always have access to.
Ashley earned her Juris Doctor and MBA in Supply Chain Management from Howard University, driven by a vision to support entrepreneurs not only with legal expertise but with a strategic understanding of business operations. She recognized early on that her clients would need more than just legal advice—they’d need a trusted partner who could offer a comprehensive, big-picture perspective. While at Howard, Ashley co-founded the Howard Law Fashion Law Society and served as its inaugural president, further honing her commitment to supporting creative and business-minded professionals alike.
She began her legal career in public service as an Assistant Attorney General in the Office of Consumer Protection for the District of Columbia, and later made history as the first Black and highest-ranking attorney in her division at the U.S. Small Business Administration.
Today, Ashley regularly speaks on topics such as business development, intellectual property, deal-making, personal branding, diversity in entrepreneurship, and wellness in the legal profession.
A firm believer in her personal motto, “Never Settle,” Ashley brings that same energy to her clients and community. She’s also a vintage lover, self-care advocate, and traveler who values meaningful connections and giving back.
