Ashley N. Cloud, Esq., MBA
Ashley Cloud is the founder and CEO of The Cloud Law Firm based in Brooklyn, New York. The Cloud Law Firm focuses on providing holistic legal services to new and emerging brands including startup services, brand and content protection, and transactional support. Through her firm, Ashley educates, empowers, and encourages disruptors and innovators to build a solid legal foundation by protecting their businesses and brands.
Since launching her firm, Ashley has strategically turned her clients’ dreams of starting a business into reality, has successfully registered numerous trademarks on behalf of her clients, has negotiated multi-million-dollar deals, and has saved her clients millions of dollars through her advocacy.
Growing up in her mother’s beauty salon, Ashley comes from a long line of entrepreneurs who have started businesses in many industries. While in law school, Ashley focused her studies on the intersectionality between fashion, the law, and business. In 2013, Ashley served as the Co-Founder and Inaugural President of the Howard Law Fashion Law Society and co-chair of Fashion Law Week.
Ashley graduated from Howard University with her JD and MBA in Supply Chain Management. Ashley has served as an Assistant Attorney General for the District of Columbia’s Office of Consumer Protection. Before starting her firm, Ashley served as the first Black and highest-ranking Attorney in her office’s history at the U.S. Small Business Administration.
Ashley is a native of Houston, Texas, and is licensed to practice law in the States of New York and Texas, and the District of Columbia. Ashley speaks on numerous topics including business development, intellectual property protection, diversity in fashion, cultural appropriation, and resources for creative entrepreneurs.
Ashley’s number 1 motto is “Never Settle” and she applies this in both her personal and professional life. She loves traveling and spending time with family and friends. Ashley has a love for anything vintage, is a huge advocate for practicing self care, and loves to pour into her community.
As a fellow entrepreneur, Ashley understands the triumphs and challenges of business ownership and can relate to her clients on a human level.
